02/12/07 - NDCHS Winter Show

Congratulations again to Glanhayl Stud for the success of Amilas Chikara, winning her class and then standing Overall Welsh 2yo Champion.

01/12/07 - Squid is HOME . . . . . . . . . AGAIN!!!

We have always know squid was the equine worlds Mr. Bump, he seems to celebrate his winter holidays with a large vets bill. This year however is achieved his best 'bump' to date, this time in his eye, and gave everyone involved many sleepless nights. Having spent more than 2 weeks in hospital its lovely to have him home again and the prognosis being more positive than when his was admitted however we can't quite celebrate yet.

Thank you to everyone who has been in touch sharing their experiences, wishing Squid well and sending cards and more importantly to Squid, food! The interest in this pony never ceases to amaze me and the responsibility of caring for him terrify me but the support when needed has been amazing. Thanks again!

18/11/07 - Midland WPCA Show

Congratulations to Sam of the Glanhayl Stud for the success of Amilas Chikara, winning her class and being made Reserve Section A Champion.

20/10/07 - Squid is HOME!!!!

Many many thanks to Rebecca, Roy, Yo and team for everything they have done with him this season taking him from an unbroken youngster to a ridden champion and triple WPCS performance medal winner. Squid is now having a well deserved winter holiday babysitting the foals and eating lots.

Pickle on the other hand having found himself in the in-hand ring again this year after a three year break has just found himself reunited with his saddle (and his son).

18/10/07 - For a number of years the number of ponies has outnumbered the number of stables considerably, however thanks to the Milton Keynes Council Planning Committee, we are delighted that a few more of the ponies will be able to have a warm dry bed when needed and 'Pickle' won't feel the need to move into the house (see below)!

During the planning debate THIS website was printed out and taken to the meeting by the objectors. I'm not sure what is on here that upsets the horses neighbours so much (Is it 'cos the ponies is Welsh?!), but I'm glad to know there is someone out there looking at the website!

Ponies (UK) Summer Championships 2007

Congratulations to Rebecca and Sunwillow Jubilee on being placed 2nd in the Kingsford Open M&M final. To say Squid enjoyed his moment under the spotlight is an understatement. Congratulations also to Alex Hinchley and Amilas Ty Gwyn who had a fantastic week being placed in every one of their first ridden classes including 2nd in the Lee Smith M&M First ridden final.

12/08/07 - Updated photos added of Tomtom and Picasso

05/08/07 - The National Welsh and Partbred Show

Congratulations to Rebecca Jarvis and Squid (Sunwillow Jubilee) on their 2nd place overall and the highest placed Section A in the Prelim 14 Dressage and also being placed 3rd in the Brynseion Section A championship final.

29/07/07 - Midland WPCA Silver Medal Show

Many Thanks to Shelley Dobbs of the Illeybrook Stud for showing Norash Beauson (Pickle) and A. Mazurka (Maggie) for me today. I'm getting quite good at finding other people to do the running when I get to a show!

24-26/07/07 - Royal Welsh Show.

(All RWAS photos by the Event Photographer)

Many thanks to Liesl Burt of the Wensley Stud who responded to my last minute plee and was kind enough to show Norash Beauson (Pickle) for me. Pickle being unhelpful as ever decided he was going his own route at his own pace but Liesl managed to hang on in the mud to be placed 6th in a very good class of senior stallions on Tuesday afternoon.

Congratulations to Sam Morsley of the Glanhayl Stud with Amilas Chikara for braving the rain and mud on Wednesday Morning and being placed 8th in a large 2yo filly class.

07/07/07 - Northleach Show. The date 7/7/07 is supposed to be an extra lucky day and it didn't disappoint (well only a little bit). Firstly it didn't rain!!!! If this was all that the luck that the day brought it would have been good enough for me! Squid however had a little more to share with us, winning both his NPS Picton Novice class and the NPS Peasedown Intermediate collecting his tickets in both. He also was once again dropped in the deep end competing in the Olympia class and standing a very credible 3rd

24/06/07 - Derbyshire County Show. Mud Mud glorious mud!!!! 4 hours of traffic jams and mud that Glastonbury would be proud of could not put dampers on a lovely day out. Pickle had another jolly (that's 2 in a year, I must be ill!) being placed 2nd.

(Many thanks to Sandra for the photos.)

21/06/07 -  Lincolnshire County Show. Squid had a go at the HOYS class today and was a little superstar. Shocking us all in silence with an initial pull of 2nd to Waithwith Westwind and a final placing of 3rd to Westwind and Waxwing Painbox, a truly amazing result in such top class company. We keep saying the pony is a star, and he is, but due credit to his fantastic pilot, Rebecca because without her none of this would be possible.

(Many thanks to Sandra for the photos.)

17/06/07 - EMWPCA Clumber Show. Squid and Rebecca had another fantastic day in Clumber park. Winning their BSPS Heritage section and   Championship qualifying them for the BSPS “David Manning” Ch. Of Champions. They then won the ridden A class, and another performance medal and were Reserve ridden Welsh Champion to a beautiful partbed. Well done and thank you to all concerned.

03/06/07 - Charing show - Bovril was 2nd today and his very proud mummy made me put this photo on here.

There you go Stacey! (Photo by quantum photographic)

30/05/07 - Staffordshire County Show - 'Connie the Pink'  was placed 2nd in a very strong 2 & 3yo filly class. Many thanks to Colin, Sarah and Jess for looking after her so well but the best bit of news is that she is now  home, woo hoo!

(Many thanks to Helen, Runshaw Stud for the photos taken at Wrexham show)

29/05/06 - Catch up

Congratulations to Rebecca Jarvis and Squid for braving the Newark and Notts showground in the pouring rain for the second time in as many weeks and bringing home yet another red ribbon, a huge achievement and testament to this ponies fantastic nature as he is now also covering mares.

Congratulations to Stacey and Amilas Beau Brummel, another pair braving the pouring rain this weekend, this time at Surrey County.

Finally a belated congratulations to Idyllic stud on the birth of their Squid foal and I wish his new owners the very best of luck with him.

13/05/07- Sunwillow Jubilee and Rebecca Jarvis had another good day, even the pouring rain not being able to put a damper on proceedings, winning their M&M small breeds class and standing Reserve M&M ridden champion at Newark and Notts County Show. Sorry for the blurry photos the camera did not appreciate the rain!

29/04/07- Congratulations to Sunwillow Stud on the birth of their second Squid filly. This one is out of Sunwillow Karara (Sunwillow Galong x Sunwillow Valbella) so carries 5 crosses of Sunwillow Bernina.

25/04/07 - Treasure has foaled giving us our first homebred section C. more details on the foal page.

22/04/07 - Sunwillow Jubilee  went to his first ever outdoor ridden show, at East Midlands WPCA and what a day it turned out to be.  He started off the day winning the Novice ridden small breeds and then took the Novice ridden Championship with a fellow RWAS in-hand winner in reserve. Squidly gaining his 1st performance medal at his first try. He then had a quick change of bridle (and mowed a bit more of the showground) before going  back into the ring to win the Open small breeds class. Then on to the championship where he produced a gallop worthy of a pony with far more experience to take the Open ridden championship in top class company and his second performance medal, not bad for a green 5yo! All credit must go to Rebecca Jarvis who has Squid on loan, broke him in last year,  has done every bit work with him and rode him so fantastically yesterday.

At the same time and just a short drive down the A1 Amilas Chutney, was  strutting his stuff in the M&M LR classes at NCPA Notts gaining a 4th in the BSPS class and 3rd in the PUK class, demonstrating an amazing maturity and consistency for a 4yo with only a few shows under his belt. Unfortunately the photographer on the day was Pleasure Prints so I can't share the photos with you (unless I pay up!).

18/04/07 More Congratulations this time to Marsh Island Stud on the birth of a filly foal out of Staines Melody and by Norash Beauson.

08/04/07 Congratulations to Sunwillow Stud on the birth of their filly foal by Sunwillow Jubilee out of Sunwillow Valbella (daughter of Sunwillow Quest). Photos of the new foals (including a baby 1/2brother to Squid) are now on the Sunwillow website.

Easter Weekend Round up - A long weekend of perfect weather and some good results. Many thanks to the ponies owners, riders, handlers, producers for keeping me up to date on what the ponies are up to. The ridden boys both posted wins, Amilas Chutney winning both in-hand and M&M ridden plus a jolly to the local riding club resulting in a 4th place in the handy pony class, well done Imogen. Sunwillow Jubilee and Rebecca Jarvis also posted 2 wins and a reserve Championship under saddle. The three year olds Amilas Beau Brummel and Amilas Confetti  were also out in hand, Stacey and 'Bovril' being 2nd at Great Chart and Colin and 'Connie' on their first outing of the season, at Forest of Dean Stallion show.

25/03/07 - Show season got into full swing today with Coral babies out in force, Amilas Chikara shown by Glanhayl Stud was 2nd in the 2yo fillies at Towerlands Medal Show. Also in the ribbons at Towerlands was Amilas Cornelius, and his big brother  Amilas Chutney made his ridden debut in the open lead rein class at Derby NCPA a successful one. Sunwillow Jubilee ridden by Rebecca Jarvis was not going to be out done by his daughter and also brought home a blue ribbon. Thank you to everyone whose hard work went in to having all these ponies looking and going so well.

Many thanks to Anna for the photo of a very cute looking Chutney!

21/01/06 - Exactly two weeks ago Amilas Beau Brummel left us to go to his new home at 'Lledrith having spent the last 10 months living out in the field. This morning I received a suprise text to say he had just won his class, on his first outing with them. What a wonderful start to his life at Lledrith. Congratulations and well done Stacey.

14/01/07 - The news pages in the last few years seem to be lacking in Pickle photos, so just so he doesn't feel left out this here he is enjoying the winter sunshine (and mud!)

07/01/07 - New arrival! - As I can't put it better I'll quote a friend: "You just have to be in the right place at the right time and chance your luck and a bit of cheek"  and you never know what will happen. In this case a conversation at the Winter fair resulted in Rhesfair Nerin and friend joining us today. THANK YOU to Steve  of the Rhesfair stud for trusting me with his precious ponies, Helen and Andy of the Runshaw stud for providing equine B&B and Stacey for being taxi for these special ladies.

In all the excitement it was sad to see Bovril leave us but he has a wonderful new home, and although sad to see them go it was a real delight to see his new owner so excited about him.

01/01/06 - Happy New Year!!!!

I'm looking forward to your news and photos to post on here.
